High-Potential Natural Gas Licenses in the Thrace Basin
Edirne (AR/EUR/E17-d) and Havsa (AR/EUR/E17-c2,c3,c4) sit adjacent to producing fields and close to the BOTAŞ gas pipeline—offering early-stage exploration upside with near-market access.

Neighboring Production
Directly adjacent to producing fields (Süloğlu to the north; Karacaoğlan to the east).
Pipeline Advantage
Close proximity to the BOTAŞ natural gas pipeline for lower offtake costs.
Existing Subsurface Data
Historic 2D seismic coverage in both license areas.
Target Depths
Approx. 400–3,000 m—consistent with nearby producing reservoirs.
Under-Explored
Particularly Havsa—one of the least explored areas in Thrace.
Licenses
Edirne — AR/EUR/E17-d
- E17-d1
- E17-d2
- E17-d3
- E17-d4

License Locations and Exploration History
- Located in the northwest of the Thrace Basin, Turkey’s most important natural gas production region, the exploration licenses AR/EUR/E17-d (Edirne) and AR/EUR/E17-c2,c3,c4 (Havsa) were awarded to EuroAsia Investment as of November 2024.
- Several significant natural gas discoveries have been made to the north and east of these licenses, becoming commercial production fields afterwards. However, sufficient exploration activities have not been carried out within these specific licenses in the past.
- To date, approximately 890 km of 2D seismic data has been acquired in the Edirne license, and about 645 km in the Havsa license. However, these data were collected between 1970 and 2006 and are supported with modern technologies.
- In particular, the Havsa license remains one of the least explored area within the Thrace Basin. This situation creates high exploration potential and represents a strategic investment opportunity.
Neighboring Gas Production Fields of the License Areas
- The licenses are considered to be among the highest potential leads in the Thrace region and directly border active gas production fields to the north and east.
- The Havsa license borders Süloğlu field of PetroGas to the north and TPAO’s Karacaoğlan field to the east.
- The Edirne license also shares its eastern boundary with the Süloğlu production field.
- Historical date reveals that the Havsa license is the least explored area within Thrace region.
- Both licenses have strong geological similarities to the natural gas prospects currently in production in the Süloğlu field.
- The BOTAŞ Natural Gas Pipeline running through the area provides a low-cost and straightforward option for delivering gas to the market once production starts.
- Target depths of potential gas prospects range from 400 to 3,000 m, in line with the depths of existing production fields in the region.

Infrastructure
Near-Market Access
The BOTAŞ pipeline network traverses the broader area, enabling faster tie-in optionality and competitive unit economics upon discovery.
Data & Work History
2D Seismic: Legacy multi-vintage lines available across both licenses.
Geologic Focus: Osmancık and Mezardere formations (time-structure targets).
Analogues: Nearby prospects and historical wells indicate system continuity (details upon NDA).
